Gambling Clinic in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area
Gambling Clinic
helps problem gamblers, concerned others and professionals.
The clinic offers
outpatient treatment in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Other services at the
clinic are peer groups and Tiltti support centre.
The clinic provides
also nationwide support services: Peluuri Gambling Helpline, Peli poikki (Time
to Fold) internet program and SMS messages based self help service Pelivoimapiiri.
Gambling Clinic is
a development project (2010 - 2014). The essence of the project is to develope treatment
and other services for gambling related problems. The results of the programme
benefit not only the Helsinki Metropolitan Area but also the whole of Finland.
The Gambling Clinic
is operated in cooperation with the Finnish state, municipalities and
non-governmental organisations. Cities involved are Helsinki, Vantaa and
Kauniainen. Coordination is provided by Socca,
the Centre of Expertise on Social Welfare in the Helsinki Metropolitan area and
The National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL). NGO partners are the
A-clinic Foundation, Sosiaalipedagogiikan säätiö and the Finnish Blue Ribbon.
